Amy Engilis joins MIKE’s Board of Directors

It took just one meeting and a look at MIKE’s current curriculum to interest Amy Engilis. Soon after, she joined MIKE’s Board of Directors in May 2021 and serves an active member of MIKE’s Education and Mentoring Committee.

“In that meeting I was introduced to what the program does for the community and I realized that it aligns so well with my own personal and professional goals,” said Amy. “I was so moved in that meeting that I offered my services in any capacity that they could use the most help.”

Amy is the Associate Professor of Sports Medicine at Warner Pacific University. She holds a Master's Degree in Kinesiology from San Jose State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. She is also a Certified Athletic Trainer. Amy has authored numerous studies, including research in functional performance deficits in female collegiate athletes, an epidemiologic study of male collegiate basketball players, and risk factors associated with collegiate soccer players. Besides teaching a broad range of subjects in health, nutrition, exercise science and sports medicine, Amy is also an academic advisor and mentor to diverse students looking for careers in allied health professions.
