MIKE’s newest partner is David Douglas High School. This diverse high school serves more than 2,700 students on two large campuses in East Portland. From a total of 44 languages spoken, the main student languages include English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Somali and Arabic.

MIKE launched a pilot program at David Douglas High School in Spring 2022. We joined health teacher Julie Caverly’s Health Science I class with a focus on healthcare careers. MIKE is bringing a variety of healthcare professionals to the school to discuss training options and provide insight into their career fields.

MIKE will expand it’s programming at David Douglas High School in Fall 2022.
