Partner Spotlight on Bob’s Red Mill

As the familiar face of Bob’s Red Mill, Lori Sobelson has inspired many to indulge in healthy eating. She has overseen the company’s corporate outreach as well as its philanthropic efforts, most notably with the OHSU Bob and Charlee Moore Institute for Nutrition and Wellness. Recently retiring from what she calls “a wonderful chapter in my working career,” Sobelson’s mark on the company and region is sure to resonate for years to come.

Sobelson’s passion for cooking and teaching has been featured at Bob’s Red Mill, in numerous health symposiums, conferences and community events. She has championed partnerships with nonprofit organizations, academic institutions and businesses throughout the region, including MIKE Program. She introduced youth at Rosemary Anderson High School to Bob’s Red Mill products, which they in turn used to prepare lunch for their entire school during a health fair in 2014. Sobelson served as keynote speaker for MIKE’s annual fundraising event in 2017, highlighting the commitment to healthy foods and nutrition.

She has enthusiastically shared Bob’s Red Mill product with MIKE, for youth, mentors and MIKE events. MIKE, in turn, has shared one of the company’s recent donations with Beaverton School District’s resource center last week to provide families with food during the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools throughout the region are hosting lunch donation sites for families adversely affected by the economic shutdown. MIKE’s sharing of Bob’s Red Mill products proves a fitting tribute to the momentum Sobelson has focused into building relationships that feed healthier lifestyles.

MIKE’s partnerships showcase the vital role collaboration can play in improving the health of youth, their families and the community.
