MIKE Health Club Launches

MIKE is embarking on an exciting new partnership with Western University of Health Sciences (WUHS) and Sweet Home High School (SHHS) to engage medical students in mentoring youth for an online afterschool enrichment program in health education. Ten eager medical students have signed on to participate in this project.

One of the key highlights of this partnership is building professional experiences for WUHS medical students through opportunities to expand their outreach in the local community, strengthen community engagement, build new partnerships and strengthen community resilience—and in turn, enriching the lives of youth. The youth will gain insight into a variety of health topics through activities, videos and discussions.

The project includes inviting guests speakers each week to introduce the youth to an array of career options in healthcare. The project launched on November 18, 2020, and will continue through May 2021.
