Michael Hartnett, MD penned an autobiography when he was thirteen years old. It is a series of essays. In the last essay titled, "Future Hopes and Dreams," he wrote of his goal of being a doctor.

"If I ever get to be a doctor I think I'll want to specialize in some special field. There will be a lot of work involved in being a doctor but I'll really have something worth while in the end.

"I hope to develop a likeable disposition and a pleasant personality in my future years. I think these qualities are necessary to a professional man of any sort. In my opinion I think that these qualities are necessary in having friends and friends are about the most important thing in anyone's life."

As the MIKE Program grows in response to community need, so too the list of sponsors has kept apace. Now that the MIKE Program web site is more than a year along, we shall publish names of current individual sponsors for distribution with our end-of-the year "Annual Report" in a printed format.
