Would you like MIKE Program to be part of your child’s educational experience?
MIKE Program’s curriculum provides project-based activities with the support of trained mentors (~one mentor: four young people) and staff to enrich the high school or youth group experience for teens. Team members gain greater understanding about how healthy bodies work through activities, field trips, incorporation of habit-forming good nutrition and water as the beverage of choice, physical activity and reflection to broaden their ability to avoid chronic diseases. The program culminates in a youth-centered Health Leadership Project, providing youth with opportunities to share their knowledge and skills with peers, families or neighbors.
By guiding youth toward healthier lifestyles, MIKE Program has empowered more than 1,000 young people to become role models for other teens, their families and communities. We focus on bringing MIKE Program to people most at-risk for chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure, all of which lead to kidney failure.
