MIKE Program

...from a recent correspondence with Cheryl.

“As you may recall, we were drawing for a Board of Directors led fund raiser, a raffle, that night. The winner was Father Joseph Wilson! Fr. Joe is now retired in South Bend, Indiana, where, years ago, he met my late husband. This was when Father Joseph was Brother Joseph and teaching at Notre Dame where Michael was enrolled. [Fr. Joe later was at University of Portland, doing research in gerontology issues in collaboration with what is now OHSU starting in the late 1970’s. He was President of University of Portland from ~1979-1982.].

I spoke with Fr. Joe this morning. It was very nice to have an excuse to have a long natter with him. It’s a small world. I thought you might know him, or know people who do. He’s doing well and enjoying retirement in the academic environment which has become his home.

He’s going to let the prize go unclaimed and/or donate it back to MIKE Program for our Autumn Evening: Reach for the Stars, a Benefit Dinner and Auction for MIKE Program for either 2009 or 2010.”
