Join Jess Bogli, Oregon’s Health Education Curriculum Specialist, August 22-23
Jess Bogli and MIKE Program are teaming together for a two-day initial workshop to provide you with the tools, knowledge and resources to make teaching health and nutrition engaging for your students. Whether you’re a health teacher or someone who wants to mentor youth, MIKE Program’s Curriculum Training Workshop offers hands-on modules to implement a comprehensive health and nutrition curriculum effectively in the classroom. The workshop features a variety of teaching strategies tied to Oregon’s Health Education Standards.
Ms. Bogli brings years of experience in health education and school health issues to her workshops. She has been a middle school health teacher, a health education curriculum specialist with the Oregon Department of Education and has worked with various teams with the Department of Human Services. She was one of 17 people selected nationally to help revise and develop the 2007 National Health Education Standards.
The focus on health and nutrition continues to grow as the numbers of obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases continue to affect our youth. Because health education is so vital to our youth and communities, MIKE Program is hosting this workshop for free. Teachers will receive Professional Development Units (PDUs) upon completion of the workshop. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. The workshop will be held at Pacific University’s Health Professions Campus in Hillsboro, Oregon.
We look forward to your participation. To register for the workshop, call MIKE Program at 503-296-7705 or complete the form below.
