Michael Hartnett, MD penned an autobiography when he was thirteen years old. It is a series of essays. In the last essay titled, “Future Hopes and Dreams,” he wrote of his goal of being a doctor.
“If I ever get to be a doctor I think I’ll want to specialize in some special field. There will be a lot of work involved in being a doctor but I’ll really have something worth while in the end.”
“I hope to develop a likeable disposition and a pleasant personality in my future years. I think these qualities are necessary to a professional man of any sort. In my opinion I think that these qualities are necessary in having friends and friends are about the most important thing in anyone’s life.”
